PTE William (Bill) Gordon Robb

William Robb (Bill) was born in Dauphin, Manitoba in 1919. He resided there until age 20, when he and his two brothers enlisted in the Canadian Army. Bill drove a tank during World War II and stormed Juno Beach on D-Day. Bill didn’t speak much about his time in the Army, but did like to share some humorous escapades he experienced with his regiment.

Bill met his future wife, Jean, when they were teenagers and she was visiting relatives in Dauphin. Shortly after his discharge from the Army in 1945, Bill married his sweetheart. They built a home together and raised their two children in Fort Garry. His first grandchild was born in 1969 and he cherished her. Bill worked as a caretaker at a number of schools in Winnipeg until his death in 1972 at 53 years of age.

Bill and Jean’s family and legacy have continued to grow with their four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
