Master Corporal Gordon J.L.H. Pageot CD

Gordon Pageot was born and raised in St. Boniface. He joined the RCAF after completing Gr. 10. He went to Boot Camp at St. Jean, PQ and then on to Clinton, ON for Radio operator training. His first posting was to Whitehorse, YT in 1955. He met and married Mel in 1957. He was transferred to Winnipeg in 1959. Two years later he was off to 4 Wing in Germany for the next four years. He returned to Clinton, On until the base closed. Next he returned to Winnipeg for four years and finally to Penhold, AB until his retirement.

Gord made many friends along the way. He and Mel had three boys: Michael in 1960 in Winnipeg, Chip in 1962 in Germany and Shawn in 1966 in Clinton. Winnipeg was Gord’s choice for retirement. He worked with his brother for a short time and then became the manager of the Fort Rouge Legion for ten years. He also joined the commissionaires and worked with them until his death in 1997. Gord was an active Legion member after his retirement from the RCAF and was 1st Vice, at the time of his retirement.
