Trooper Alf Nicholson

Trooper Alf Nicholson had been living with a sister on Berkley St. and then left to work on a chicken ranch outside of Neepawa, where his family was originally from. He decided to enlist in 1941 and was posted to the 18th Armoured Car Regiment. He died near Brettville-sur-Laise during the failed attempt to close the Falaise Gap, hopefully trapping the German army, on Aug. 14th, 1944.
