Roy Long was born in Saskatchewan one of 9 children. Prior to enlisting he has worked as a mink rancher on Roblin Blvd. and later as a meatpacker. He enlisted in 1940, and after training was shipped overseas to Italy to join the 1st Canadian Field Regiment RCHA. He was killed in action Sept. 12, 1944 in Italy.
