Aircraft Woman Rita Green

Rita served two stints in the RCAF, the first during WWII and again in the 1950s, first as a Driver of VIPs and later as a photographer. She was a longtime member of the RCAF Association. She was a 49 year, Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Charleswood Branch 100. She served on the Legion Executive for many years including secretary and membership chair. Most importantly in 1979 she was elected the first Lady President of the Charleswood Legion and possibly of the Canadian Legion. She also served as the greeter/ bouncer at the door of the legion for more than a dozen years.
