Alphonsus Augustus Chaisson

Alphonsus Augustus Chaisson (aka Ack Ack, Foncie, or Al) enlisted in the Army in 1952 in his home province of PEI. He served in Korea during 1953–1954. Al married his wife Marie in 1955 and was posted to Nova Scotia, a short time later to New Brunswick and then took his young family to Germany, where he was stationed for 3 1/2 years. From there he and his family landed in Winnipeg, where he served until he retired from the military in 1972.

After retirement, Al worked at various car dealerships and later in his career he was employed by the Addiction Foundation of Manitoba (AFM) until he retired in 1994.

Al remained an active member of the Korean Veteran Association (KVA) and the Charleswood Legion 100 until his passing on April 23, 2020.
