RCL Br# 100 – Charleswood fosters a special relationship with Oak Park High School and when we heard about the challenges that the school was having with regards to fund raising for the Gil Bramwell Field Renovation Project we, as part of the Charleswood Community, wanted to assist them with this huge undertaking. Our Branch Executive unanimously voted on making a $500.00 donation towards this very important project.
Gil Bramwell Field is a park that serves as the only green space available to the Oak Park Raiders Football Team and all of the students at Oak Park High School for after school practices of many sports programs as well as the daily phys-ed classes. Unfortunately, due to the extremely poor condition of the space, practices and games can no longer be held there. The Oak Park Football Parent Committee, over the past two years, has been working diligently with regards to raising the $230,000.00 required for the project. It’s Third and Long and the committee is turning to everyone they know and asking for help so that our community can celebrate with a safe, useable field.
